Wedding Dinner at Raffles Hotel

Yesterday night, witnessed my aunt's (Granduncle Ronnie's daughter) wedding at Raffles Hotel. Not that close to them though... but yeah, it was a cool wedding considering she married to an Australian.

Australian cum Chinese wedding - what do you think it would be like? At some garden part of Raffles Hotel, it looks so high class... with a red carpet bla bla... and a mixture of the tea ceremony inside the wedding ceremony also...

Waited a long time before could enter the ballroom for dinner. Woah... the food served were all in small portions... but it was deliciously delicious xD Speeches were made each time each different dish was served. High-class food... woah... and also, I met my cousins I never knew that existed... indeed, my generation of cousins is so confusing. How many cousins do I actually have? Haha...

Last part was the dancing part. First, we watched the married couple dance to the jazz music... then soon, everyone joined in! It was a crazy dance ever lol... my first time being quite crazy haha... Australian cum Chinese wedding dinner and dance, very interesting indeed...

Oooh... time then was 11.30pm... had to go off... it was a fun night indeed! Haha...

And oh dear, school starts tomorrow lol...

Anyway, yup had a class party at Yongjia's house on Thursday 7 Sep. Was the first to arrive... like wow, first to arrive in the 'amazing race' eh... okay nvm abt that, anyway, class party was extremely fun! Good food, fun games like Polar Bear (4.14 GAME!), Murderer, Indian Poker... err what else? Singing karaoke... basically, a very fun party!

Although I had to take some funny concoction cos i lost in one game... a concoction of a cherry drink with coke with chocolate ice cream... tasted good actually lol, but had hiccups after that haha...

We should have another class party after exams 5.12!!! Next time will bring bigger mahjong tiles haha...

Yesterday, recess was so darn early... and school ended at 2.40pm. Didn't want to go SAC to eat, so went out of school instead...

Outside school, got the ice cream man there... I bought a chocolate ice cream with the biscuit thing for only one buck...

Then at the bus stop, I saw Elin... then my bus 74 came, but I didn't get on...

Then Elin asked, "Why don't you get on the bus?"

I replied, "I don't want to get caned."

Yup, that's about it. Yup, I know eating and drinking on the bus/mrt is not allowed, but that wasn't my reason though...

School hours have been extended
up to 5.40pm which makes us frustrated
They say need to catch up on curriculum
due to the many recent holidays

Okay okay, I agree that we need to catch up
for some subjects, especially those that need to buck up
But guess what? The lessons that we always miss since Term One
Is none other than Lesson for SL One

Tomorrow lessons are in this order
from 8am to 5.40pm
HL2 for 2 hours 40 minutes
Recess for 40 minutes
HL1 for 2 hours 20 minutes
SL2 for 60 minutes
Lunch break for 20 minutes
HL3 for 40 minutes
SL3 for 40 minutes
SL2 again for 40 minutes
and lastly, HL1 again for 40 minutes

Look at that HL1
A total of 3 hours
And the lesson SL1 we always miss
Somehow it's not there
And it's catching up of curriculum
Isn't it ironic?

Okay, a poem that I tried to write, but okay it doesn't sound like a poem... okay, I know it benefits us definitely, but then, wheres the SL1 that we need the most since we miss like tons of them? It's not there...

It is currently Term 3 Week 7 and tomorrow is a Friday, which marks the end of week 7! A very fast yet relaxing week...

Week 8...9...10... and soon it will be the September holidays... fast eh?

From tomorrow onwards, 5.12 will be short of one classmate. One classmate that we will all miss as a class definitely. Take care and have fun. Wish you all the best in the neighbouring country of ours. 5.12 will always be there...

Haven the Musical

One of the biggest musical productions from my school this year. Watched it today during the matinee slot (2pm to 4pm) inside the new CPA. The new CPA is really awesome, comparing with the 'old CPA'. The seats in the new CPA is comfortable, and the air-con is just nice... comfortable indeed!

Sat together with Nong, Joel Boey, Elin and Chien Ser. In front of me was Chen Yi, Su Xin and Justin Woo.

We had a great time watching the 'Haven' musical... to me, it was superb! Well-done, everything seemed to be perfect, the lightings, sounds, cast, set, music etc. etc., everything was well done!

Actors (and actresses) did not forget their lines which is good (unless I didn't notice but that shouldn't be the case). When Kenneth Yeo (acted as the pastor) entered the scene, Chien Ser and I had a shock... like omg, that's Kenneth? Looks totally different la... but his low voice is definitely more unique than others.

Babu (did I spell correctly?) was acted by Ashvin (from my maths class). No wonder I didn't see much of him in Maths recently, so he's also involved in Haven. Acting was good I would say. Quite memorable and funny...

My Centerstage Koya Director - Sun Meicen - also acted in this musical, as Mother of Julian (acted by Hammy/Abraham Tan). Known for her pro-singing and pro-directing and pro-ah, everything pro, the stage was all hers. As for Abraham, I'm very impressed with your acting. I never expected to see you as a main actor there, well done!

The set was also very well done, mainly designed and constructed by Nick Yeo and his team. Knowing his artistic talent, his contribution in the Haven set is indeed clearly shown with the professional set produced. Well done!

Basically, it was indeed a good performance and I had an awesome time watching it. Kudos to the Haven cast. Well done and Congratulations!

Okay, it wasn't that killer after all...

Next week is the week I am looking forward to. Not because it's National Day, but because its gonna be a short break for all of us =D Monday and Friday are normal school days... Tuesday is Nat'l Day School Celebrations... Wed and Thurs holidays... so yup cool xD

Sigh, got mock TOK to do on Monday... ah well, surely mati one...

7 months have passed. It is now the month of August. Is time really moving at a fast rate? With just a twinkling of an eye, it's almost the end of Term 3, considering week 7 is next week! Very soon, you never know, the final year exams are awaiting your pens...

Tomorrow I'll be going for the Haven Matinee. Let's see if the $15 is really worth it haha...

The upcoming week is gonna be the killer week. Term 3 Week 6...

I hear so many things are going on in Term 3 Week 6. Week 6... Week 6... everything seems to be Week 6... well after week 6, there's more...

Is life really lost when one enters the IB? Did they come up with the term IB by shifting one letter from the letters JC?

JC (1 letter before for each) = IB

Oh my goodness.. maybe that's how the name came up to be... shifting of letters. before J = I, before C = B... I wonder if that's how the name came up to be it...or maybe it is just too coincidental...

Yup, IB is given priority as stated in one article I read. Yup, sinec I comes before J and B comes before C... okay now this is getting lame...

Lame entry I guess... but it is soo true...

Common Test Release of Results Day

Okay, so it is not only Racial Harmony Day... but it is also the day as mentioned in today's topic title.

No lessons today, only release of results, bridging, briefing and watching (the concert). Was so afraid I would fail one subject...

Papers slowly enter the room where we got our results. One by one, papers were given out. Overjoyed and disappointed faces were seen. Shocked and surprised faces were seen too. I experienced all faces.

Was totally surprised for English A1. Never expected to get an 18... Maths I thought I couldn't get 7-points anymore, but still got it nevertheless by luck... Chinese almost hit 7... Malay ab got 97 lol, that's like wow... Chemistry got 71... 6 points...

However, B&M only got 4 points. In fact, it is only 50%. Almost failed! Any mark less will be a fail... so thankful and glad that it wasn't a failure.

Shall work harder for the final year... and get better results hopefully...

This is only just a trial-out reflection of the exam results... this is just the beginning... the final one will be in about 3 months time. Less than 3 months in fact...

If you did well, keep on working harder!

If you didn't do so well, work harder for the next challenge - final year exam! May you do better next time!

There will not be any success without any failures.

Decisions made...

I thought changing my subject combi was a decision made that was quite bad...

But well, after today, I decided that it is not that bad after all. Firstly, get to learn new things that you will never get a chance... Secondly, I realise I'm not a scientific kind of person... Thirdly, it makes me realise what my real interests are.

Why did I decide to talk about decisions made? This is partly because two schoolfriends I know that have made certain decisions that I think have been done quite late I suppose... but as long as they don't regret it, it's all the best for them.

Let's call them Person A and Person B. Even if you know who A and B are, please don't reveal their names anywhere as privacy is important...

Person A decided to leave the school and take up another kind of course in a private school. Good decision made since Person A doesn't like the IB system. All the best for person A in the new school.

Person B decided to go back to O-Level. That means Person B is now back to Secondary 4, doing the Os. I guess Person B doesn't like the new IB system too, but since Person B was in IP, didn't have a chance to take Os, and since there is no other way to get into JCs without Os, I guess that's the only way. Feeling a little pity for Person B, but I hope Person B will know what he's doing and decisions made are right.

So, have you made the right decisions today?

The Sumptuous Meal...

It's been nearly four years or so since we had a meal at Swensons. That's a rather long time, don't you think so?

Since we had some special voucher that allows us to get a free sundae (worth $7.30) with 2 main courses ordered... we ordered fish n chips, half bbq chicken... and chicken baked rice. Man... it tastes sooo good.

It was in West Mall, and coincidentally I met someone I knew again. This time it was Maurice Lim. He was in my sec 2, sec 3 and sec 4 class... he seemed to be involved in some cooking competition. Interesting...

Then on my way out, I saw Yuen Gi, Maurice and friends walking out of West Mall too. I was behind them, so they probably didn't see me...

Yup, will there be another coincidence day again? haha...

The Coincidence Mystery

A few months back, I think in March, when I went to Raffles City just to have a good sumptuous high-tea meal with my family at Bakerzin, I met 3 people within 3 hours in different places on the same day on a weekend.

Today, went to Bakerzin again at Raffles City. This time, while waiting for my family to come to Bakerzin, I met Justin Low. Didn't notice him at first, but he noticed me and said hi :) Had a short chat before he walked off to meet his friends. Wow, coincidence eh? Had to happen because of this Bakerzin trip again haha...

On the way home, on the bus 171, since it was quite crowded, and I was sitting on the left side, watching the outside surroundings from the left window. Somewhere along Bukit Timah Road near Crown Center, I somehow saw Ben Soh walking along the path. He didn't see me obviously, but I saw him...

Very coincidental right? Is Singapore just too small? I'm just wondering, why does this 'coincidence mystery' always occur to me whenever I go to Bakerzin in Raffles City? This is just so mysterious... or maybe I'm just thinking too much...

Maybe it is meant to be so.

The World Cup is over...

The common tests are about to be over too...

Yesterday's match was very exciting... was supporting France because they are not rough unlike Italy... was surprised at the early penalty goal made by Zidane in the first 7 minutes or so... and the surprising corner kick goal by Italy too.

Italy seems to be very rough and the most shocking part of the game was that Zidane got a red card... wth la... referees didn't even see it... and the penalty shootout, how could France miss that shot... oh well... Italy wins... didn't want them to though...

It is sort of a "holiday" here... tomorrow is the day to start "that" again...

World Cup School Holiday

Ever heard of that? No right? I can't believe it is actually happening to my school...

"Due to the World Cup which will be showing on Sunday night/Monday very early morning, for years 1 to 4, school will start at 1pm and end at 6pm, as for the year 5s, there will not be any common test papers on Monday. The Mon papers will become the Tues papers, the Tues papers will become the Wed papers, and so on..."

That is just so unexpected from him lah. Maybe he wants to watch the World Cup also that's why he implemented such a holiday. First time I ever heard a school doing that due to World Cup...

4 papers down, 2 left to go... due to this special holiday given, instead of ending on next Thursday, it is now Friday... ah well... slack time shall begin for a while...

Today is 1 long day in school. Ends at 4.40pm... the longest day in school needless to say. I guess some ppl got used to it already, but somehow I dunno y I still find Tuesday a very sian day lol xD At least TOK was fun... the Flight 93 Video J Wong showed us was interesting...

World Cup VS Common Test

The most memorable quote that I actually could remember from the common test briefing. Very interesting quote I should say. Not sure if I remembered the quote word for word, but roughly, that's roughly the quote I remembered...

Taking the common test is once in a lifetime? More like once every semester during school time? "Lifetime" is a little bit strong word to use I think.

The finals of the World Cup is on 9 July I think. It's a Sunday and I think they are showing it at midnight, which means 10 July early early morning. So glad no papers on 10 to 11 July for me... can take that time to watch the finals hopefully...

Oh well, didn't make it to next round, hope won't malu in sch haha. At least we did our bestest... and learnt quite a lot of things from it... man i do not want to appear on national tv ever again... so embarrassing... ;.;

Face shown until like that... but its ok lah, my retarded cherry head also quite terrible la... well all for the fun and CA of it anyway... Start of the new term...

Again, there are changes to the timetable...

PE switched with one of the periods before lunch on thursday... now PE every thurs and fri, 2 days in a row... wow =.=

Today was the first time entering the new audi for me. My gosh... it's so huge... looks so like a stadium haha... but the seats spoilt the atmosphere... comfortable seats la, but if got cushion then better haha... *daydreams*

From where I was sitting at the audi and where the stage was... it felt sooo sooo far, as if I was in the National Stadium or something. Hahaha... this place is becoming very huge indeed.

And not to forget about this morning... waited at the bus stop for 74 for almost half an hour... still never turn up, then Mr Eric Wee (who was waiting at the bus stop also) asked me whether I wanted a lift to school... he took cab... so I agreed and I 'pulled' Mao into the cab too haha...

Wow... how nice. He paid the fare and didn't want us to pay some of the fare... thank you Sir... lol even though he doesn't teach me, but he's my neighbour haha... sort of... same condo...

Free gifts in the morning. What do we get? Past year exam papers lol... wait they aren't free, sure must pay via GIRO one... nothing is free in this world. Even wearing casual on youth day? Hahaha.... "buy the rights to wear casual" -- well I'm used to it anyway, every year is the same...

Didn't study for exams yet. People asked me, I told them I didn't, they never believe =.= Sigh... the truth never gets believed... better don't TOK too much...

Okay, I guess I wasn't used to it during the first few days teaching in Shuqun Secondary, but after a week or so, I realised that teaching is actually very fun! Setting papers for them, getting them to understand, it's just too cool and fun I think! I am actually enjoying it now... and sad to realise that it is about to end soon... maybe I can try to figure out another CAS and see if I can go back there and finish up the rest of the CAS hours somehow haha...

The students over there are very nice. Okay even though it's a neighbourhood school, but they are nice after all! Okay, they may be a little playful, but well they are still children :) We were all children once after all anyway! Now I know how it feels like to be in the shoes of a teacher... it can actually be fun if you make it to be!

Regarding my health, it is getting a little better now. Yesterday, it was horrid. I could not swallow anything, my ears were hurting, I kept spitting, nothing could enter my throat somehow... it just kept coming out from my mouth. What to do? Went to NUH A&E... and got kana 2 injections, one at the arm, the other at the backside. Oww... well, it wasn't that pain, at least the pain in my throat was 99% gone. I felt so much better after that.

And I shall have my belated birthday lunch soon hopefully... after my throat is fully recovered first. For now, I shall avoid any deep-fried or fried oily food... xD

Thanks all who actually remembered my birthday, whether early, on time or belated :) I appreciate it!

Woot! Today is my birthday, I am getting older now xD

Early in the morning, woke up with a temperature of 38.2 degrees fever. How unlucky man, getting sick on my birthday =.= Instead of eating out and having a good birthday lunch, I spent most of the day shivering, sleeping, resting, and having no appetite.

Cut the cake... but didn't eat because no appetite. Oh well, what a day...

And of course, went to see doctor... doctor said viral fever... wa sian so unlucky...

Those were basically what I heard during yesterday's Korea vs Togo match. And yup thanks Yuen Gi for correcting my "Dae-Han-Min-Gook" spelling of mine xD

Yesterday's match, 1st-half Togo scored a goal, making the score Korea 0:1 Togo. However, in the 2nd half, the Koreans got lucky and score became Korea 2:1 Togo. Luck plays a big part when foul takes place near the goal area.

2 Asian countries representing Asia at the World Cup. Japan won't make it I think, Korea still has a chance I think. Yesterday's match was a lil exciting, but not as exciting as the Aussie vs Japan one I guess. Comparing Japan and Korea, Korea definitely is better, but not that good still...

What I can't figure out is that why didn't Korea try to score another goal at the last minute when they had a chance at the free kick part? Oh well... but I got to say the passing of the ball by the Koreans is very smooth and good...

Today's S day wasn't that bad. The kids love making noise, and I had to tell them to keep their noise level down... man that is so Mr Tim Lim way... "Gentlemen, keep the noise level down..."

Yup, and will be setting a mini short quiz for them too. Let's see how they will fare...

Yesterday's AUS:JPN 3:1 score was just wow... within 8 minutes Australia scored 3 goals, that's just wow lol... Japan was indeed very confused I guess... or feeling hopeless, shocked...

Tonight will be Korea vs Togo. Hope it will be as exciting as yesterday's world cup match.

Service Hours start...

Today was the first day of teaching English to Sec 1s at Shuqun Sec Sch. It also marks the start of the Service hours for CAS... finally, getting some S hours. By the end of this activity, can claim 5C and 25S =)

Working on this CAS with Nathania, once the activity is over or ongoing for this and next week, will post some photographs here. This is a learning experience for us indeed, and the role of being a teacher... what should be done such as analysing each lesson and each student and figuring out what's best for them. Indeed a learning journey for us.

Our activity supervisor is Denise Low. She's a nice person, willing to accept us in teaching these students during the holidays, so as to help us in our CAS. I thank her for that definitely, as S seems to be the difficult part for me to get for the CAS. Hopefully I can get more opportunities for S so that I can actually complete all the S hours by the end of this year.

Wow, only 14 days left before holiday ends. That's fast... good or bad? There's always pros and cons to anything...

My first time eating Korean food in my entire life... yeah can't believe how 'slow' I am eh?

Had a Korean food lunch at Wisma today. The rice served was just so different... it's a little sticky but it's delicious... yummy! Eating from that kinda small shiny metal bowl is just cool lol... and the kimchi was very spicy I don't dare eat haha...

I guess the show Da Chang Jin (Jewel in the Palace) could have been some form of promoting Korean cuisine to everyone. It certainly worked if that was one of the purpose of the show.

I MISS THE SHOWTIME PEOPLE!!!!

Missed the times when we were working together towards a common goal. Missed the times when we played bridge in order to relax. Missed the times when we talked and had fun with one another. Missed basically everything about it! Must make sure we meet up as a group during recess or any possible time!

I don't know why I suddenly felt like saying that though... just had that feeling.

I think I know why... my mother brought me, my grandmother and my maid to Crystal Jade at Parkway Parade for dinner today... well because she had 30 dollars voucher that's why. I think the dinner made me remember the supper at Holland V Crystal Jade after the Showtime thing last week. Memories... good ol' memories...

Overall, it was quite a fun Cameron Highlands journey :) Even though Malaysia was always known to be very boring for me most of the time, but it wasn't that boring at all up high in the Cameron Highlands. At least had some time of relaxing... unlike now?

Next week is Service Hours week. Must claim all that S for CAS... and also the paperwork after that... too bad cannot finish all 50C 50A 50S by the end of this year... I will make sure I finish at least 90% of it before next year so that next year will be more "relaxful" :)

Take time to relax. Working all the time will make you rather mad.

EE Primary Research Day 2

A very long journey of EE primary researching today...

Left the house at 9am, reached back at 6.30pm... how many hours out? Do the maths...

1st stop was Parkway Parade. I was on bus 170, and in front of me was bus 48, hoping the 170 will take over so I stayed on the 170 until it managed to take over the 48. Many traffic lights made me lose hope, but in the end, I still caught the bus 48 haha...

After that, took bus 31 to Tampines Mall. After that, the next part was to take bus 27 at the Tampines Ave 4 bus stop all the way to Hougang Central. Saw a bus 27 approaching with the 'To Hougang Central' at the side of the bus. Wa sian... the sign tricked me! It was going in the opposite direction, towards Changi Airport! Sianz... since I was already at the airport, might as well have lunch there...

Never ever trust those directions given at the side of the bus... those bus drivers never change them =.=

3rd stop - Hougang Mall... first time being there... no comments...

4th stop - North Point... nothing much besides being very crowded...

The 5th stop was supposed to be Causeway Point, but they had this 'No Camera Allowed' sign, thus had to change the shopping center to Ten Mile Junction in Bt Panjang...

The other shopping centers were Lot 1 and West Mall. A very long and tiring journey indeed... And I think I saw Prisca at the Hillview bus stop when I was on bus 177...

Whee! Finally done with my EE Primary Research stuff. That means after compiling results, can write essay easily liao...

Did my EE primary research in the commercial areas today...

Started off in Great World City...

Took a total of 7 to 8 hours doing those methodology xD Madness!

Tomorrow is day 2... heartland area... well last day that is... then after that can start on EE liao yay! Get it done fast and no more worries after that...

And I just realised I got to worry about IOP... sigh...

Showtime Finale

Finally after the gruelling week of making props and doing rehearsals, it was down to the Finale of the national tv competition "It's Showtime!"...

We did our utmost bestest in doing our best in the show, despite the score we obtained, which I believed it was because of the influence of 'one person', which I won't mention who in case I get into trouble :) But basically, thanks to the supporters who came down to support us on the day of the finale - Prefectorial Board, Justin Lim, Nathania, and anyone else whom I have missed out.

Thanks to all the team members for your commitment in this competition! Yup, even though we are always doing it for the cause of CAS as usual (yup for wrong reason eh?), but still, we did our bestest and worked hard together, despite arguments that may occur at times. Kudos goes to the team leader Justin Woo! And the rest to all of us - myself, Hannah, Yongjia, Lee May, Jerel, Brendan, Nick Ong, Ben Soh, Ben Chan Kia Hua, Oswald, Melvin and Reuben Ong.

It was a learning journey and experience for all of us indeed! And here's some photographs...

Supper at Crystal Jade

Yup, we had supper at Crystal Jade in Holland Village. I had Century Egg Porridge, Soya Bean Milk and we all had 2 expensive side dishes. We also met Rowena there, at like 11.40pm? Never expected to see our classmate at such an hour there...

There were two tables - 9 ppl and 6 ppl table. I was at the 6 ppl table with Kia Hua, Ben Soh, Brendan, Jerel and Reuben Ong. The bill at our table cost more than the bill at the 9 ppl table... lol I wonder why too xD Thanks Ms Han and Mr Edwin Wong for treating us! Hope you don't mind the "high bills" though...

That marks the end of the Showtime Journey I believe... made new friends and completed my C part for CAS I think... wheee and it's now back to my other busy life yet again...

3 more weeks left before the holiday ends... and that means common test is about to come =.= Sigh...

Oh well, just live with it...

After a thrilling and fun time at Ipoh and Cameron Highlands with my granduncle, grandaunt, grandmother, my 2 aunt's family and my own family (yup, can consider it a big family overseas gathering outing), I am finally back here... in Singapore.

Now there's lots of things for me to do throughout this whole June Holidays... sigh this is like the busiest June I ever had in my entire life. Yes, entire life - well I have not lived for that long anyway... only less than 17 years so far...

Let me see... the tasks for June holidays that are ready to 'kill' me...

Yup, got some comments from the TV people about our rehearsal today. Agreed with most of the things they said (note: most, not all), so decided to develop and build upon the current stuff we have to make it more creative...

Two problems faced are commitment and planning I would say. In any project, if there's no commitment, the project will definitely not work out.

Also, manpower is the problem I guess. If I can do it for OM, why not for this? Must try to resolve...

Okay, instead of going to Ipoh in the morning, going at night now instead... night bus omg... that's gonna be a long ride.

Won't have any internet access there (I think), so yup won't be blogging from tonight till 31st May 2006, after that it will be rehearsal of the Showtime... hopefully all wil be well by then. Hope I will have lots of fun in Ipoh and Cameron Highlands... hmm...

Yup, that's about it... to all my Showtime team members, all the best! Sorry I can't make it from Mon to Wed.

Commitment and planning, which is more important?

Props Construction Day

After a long session of school today, it was down to the Props Construction Day for the Showtime. Managed to finish up some props which is good... Everyone had lots of fun, a lot of video-taping done by me on the group...

People who are involved in this include myself, Hannah, Yongjia, Justin Woo, Oswald, Ben Chan, David Mark Lee, Jerel, Ben Soh, Brendan, Lee May, Jing-En, BLT, Kia Hua, Ethan, Jordan... hope I didn't miss anyone out...

Not to forget the teachers-in-charge, Mr Edwin Wong and Ms Han Kok Peng. Doing this thing helps us in not only CAS, but of course the real experience and not to forget appearing on national television... haha...

Heard that phrase so many times today due to the quite a number of NG scenes we had while the TV station were filming us.

Today was both fun and tiring. Like oh my goodness, appearing on national television? That's just omg... good experience though, gives me more reason why I should not work as an actor haha xD so tiring.... so many retakes, but well can't help it I guess.

Everyone had a chance to say something as the host known as Ah-Ben was interviewing all of us doing the props construction. Actually said something lah... omg... on national television, that's just... 'no comment'

We also have our very own "Zhou Jielun" (Jay Chou) in our midst. He is none other than Justin Woo... diploma boy. Our very own Zhou Jielun in ACS(I), played 'An Jing' for all of us to hear and was even filmed by MediaCorp! Congratulations Justin Woo, you will be the next Zhou Jielun...

Time is precious.

I wonder why these 3 acronyms happened to have the same letters. Coincidence? On purpose? I wonder too...

Yup! Last week of school, and I'm so looking forward to the upcoming holidays. Can you just imagine how much relaxation and break there will be for a while? Yes, a while only =.= Cos they had to make the 30% common tests right after the June Hols in Term 3 Week 2 to 3... how 'nice' timing eh?

Yup, it was the Group 4 Project Day yesterday. I wanted to blog about this yesterday, but somehow I fell alseep early before 9pm and woke up at 8am this morning... wow, that's like nearly 12 hours of sleep. How often can one get 12 hours of sleep? That's just wow indeed...

Thankfully our experiment was a success, 100% success! We were doing something about vinegar, and thanks Hannah, Kenneth and Kangdi for all the hard work you have put into this group 4 project, even though it may or may not be counted for assessment. Actually, if it was counted for assessment, I wonder if we would be able to score high marks for it haha...

And also, talking about the school campus, I looked up Google Earth recently and realised that Google Earth has 'updated' it sometime in 2006. When I looked up Singapore and searched for Dover Road, I realised that it is not updated at all. The ramp that is non-existant now is still there...

This coming week is the last week of school! Oh my goodness... it is almost there! The holidays are coming!

The Amazing Race 9: Season Finale

It is finally the season finale of The Amazing Race 9. Racers made their way from Bangkok, Thailand to Tokyo, Japan to Anchorage, Alaska and back to the starting point of the race, Denver, Colorado. The finish line was actually the starting point, not bad not bad...

It was down to the final 3 teams - BJ & Tyler, Eric & Jeremy and Ray & Yolanda. BJ & Tyler owned the last few legs of the race, Eric & Jeremy settled for second place after many first place finishes in the first few legs of the race, Ray & Yolanda hopelessly lagged behind throughout the race.

Let's start from Leg 12. Teams flew to Tokyo, Japan. Very high-tech and advanced country, except for the language barrier there. BJ & Tyler had no problems at all since they actually knew how to speak the Japanese language, whereas Ray & Yolanda faltered with the Japanese language. Capsule rooms were cool, detour was cool except the maiden was fricking ugly... like omg, looks like some sort of ghost, and worst was it happened at night. Dark and spooky, and a ghost appears...

Finding the clue at the most busy intersection in Tokyo, Japan was awesome! I just loved that clue, but it was frustrating, wasn't it? The roadblock was mental and physical. 3 roller coaster rides, and must spot a man holding a message. That is like wow... Hippies played dirty there by telling Jeremy that he saw the words on the second ride, which was obviously false because it only appeared at the third ride. Despite it all, a pedal-swan-race to the pit-stop in leg 12, Eric & Jeremy somehow didn't manage to beat the Hippies to the bottom of Mt Fuji. Ray & Yolanda lost all their money due to non-elimination. LOL...

Japan looks very high-tech, and very expensive place I guess. Traffic was all right, night view of the city of Tokyo rox! Much better than Shanghai and Singapore definitely... colourful, bright lights, sparkling, isn't that nice at all? :)

In the final leg, teams flew to Anchorage, Alaska. A tough cold chilly physical leg. Now I know why the second last leg was in Tokyo, so that Ray & Yolanda actually have some thick clothing to get ready for this final cold leg. Indeed, the whole leg was cold.

Alaska detour involved drilling of ice to water, then push some wooden house over. Very physical, and kinda cool to actually see how the ice drill actually works. Then, teams flew to their final destination city, Denver, Colorado.

First clue there was to search for clues in a certain area. Hide and seek indeed, very luck-based. Eric & Jeremy reached there first, followed by Hippies, then Ray & Yolanda. Then, teams headed back to the starting point of the race, the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where teams faced the final roadblock - Rearrange flags according to the destinations visited in the race, in chronological order.

Eric & Jeremy was the first to reach the roadblock, followed by the Hippies. Tough and tight competition. Both made mistakes, but Eric & Jeremy made the most crucial mistake by thinking that Oman was the wrong flag, even though it was actually the right one chosen. Hippies found out their mistake by forgetting to take the Russian flag. In the end, Hippies ran to the finish line in first place, winning the grand prize of one million dollars. Kinda wasted for Eric & Jeremy, one huge mistake cost them the one million dollars prize. Very wasted indeed for the Frat boys (Eric & Jeremy), at least they got second place... well, at least they have won many prizes from the first few legs of the race.

Of course, not to forget the hopeless laggy team Ray & Yolanda, who arrived at the finish line in third place.

That marks the end of the Amazing Race 9. I wonder when will season 10 come...

One mistake and that's the end of it.

Monday was HL Day, today is the Short Split Recess Day due to the 20min recess, 40min lesson, then 20min recess again. Like wow... what can I say about the scheduling? Having two short breaks than one long break... makes a lot of difference... or does it?

Tomorrow got Chinese and English tests for me. That means 2 down to go for tomorrow, leaving only 1 left! But after that, common tests about to come in early July. Ahh!

And before July, I will be releasing the second series of Puzzling Journey :) All new series, all new puzzles, hopefully less 'lame' of course...

And wow, it is going to be the 1 month holiday soon! But will it really be a 'holiday'? Hmmm... I wonder that too...

Yup, today was on the talk of the fictional story of DVC (Quite obvious what it stands for). The Bishop came to speak to us about the DVC. When it was Q&A time, there was this particular person who started asking questions no one could comprehend and understand... kept asking so much... must be GEP la... all want to splash water at him...

Next up was two tests in a row. Chem and Business... did fairly all right, won't fail for sure which is a good thing :) Just won't fail lah... means pass only haha xD

I was thinking through some stuff today. What is my reality? Business? Maths? I guess so... definitely not science for sure. What do I see in my reality? I wonder too... a teacher? Maybe... a businessman? Maybe... a scientist? No way... a mathematician? What can he do? Make new theorems? LOL... I really wonder too...

Had a chat with my 'cheese puff friend' after school on the phone, asking him if I could do my Business IA project for his restaurant. Glad he agreed :) Hopefully can get some stuff done about this...

As mentioned yesterday, today will be a terrible day for me, but it is not that terrible after all...

Many tests coming up soon, therefore I said terrible, because so much to study. Started some on Chemistry... later will start on B&M... *sigh*

Watched a total of 10 episodes of Da Chang Jin DVD yesterday - episodes 61 to 70. Lasted at least 10 hours. Crazy indeed... at least I am done with that show. I feel that what I am going through in reality is somewhat similar to Changjin, except without the sabotaging from Lady Cui of course...

But is it really a holiday? Here comes the concept of reality again. What appears to be may not appear to be so... well that is reality I guess.

Looks like a simple life does not exist in reality at all. Everything is complex, just like Mathematics, when you thought numbers were simple, you learn about complex numbers...

Whee! Got back my Maths test back. As expected, I lost 7 marks in the P&C question. Expected that... and indeed I lost them. That is my only weak chapter in Maths so far... man I need to do more P&C harder questions... and yup score of 43/50 :)

Oh well, so many tests next week, and Group 4 project. EE also... CAS also... life is indeed never simple...

Leg 11: MoJo Eliminated...

After a big rivalry between the Hippies and MoJo, it has finally sort of come to an end with the elimination of MoJo in Bangkok, Thailand.

Good planned leg I would say. Gives the Hippies time to get some money and the time each team got onto the bus to the Shrine was amazing. MoJo arrived in Thailand same time as the two alpha-male teams, yet Hippies beat them.

Roadblock was amazing - tested their patience and tolerance with the monkeys indeed.

Fast-Forward was horrible... horrible... eating those fried grasshoppers and crickets...

Detour very interesting... carrying that plank of wood with pots on top is indeed not easy at all... the painting one wasn't that easy either...

Got to say the giving out of prize for this leg is very cool... Travelocity Golden Gnome in the clue they pick... interesting...

MoJo is eliminated, I'm glad because these two really have too much ups and downs...

The final 3 teams... Ray & Yolanda, Eric & Jeremy and BJ & Tyler. I hope Ray & Yolanda will win. Why? Reasons are below...

1. Most well-behaved team.
2. Nicer to each other...
3. Eric & Jeremy has won way too many...
4. BJ & Tyler can be quite sneaky...

After 2 weeks not being in school, 1 week OEP 1 week MC, I am finally back to school. Everyone welcomed me back, well almost everyone... some didn't notice I wasn't there the whole week, well I am insignificant anyway to some people :) Thanks all my friends and 5.12 classmates for caring and praying for me while I was away...

Okay, everyone starts asking me questions today... okay thanks for caring, but just imagine saying the same thing to many ppl, and some ppl thinks its funny... "haha, u got shingles, so fun..." like wth lah? think fun meh? but oh well, I just did not bother about what they say... that's why I decided to keep a little quiet today... well to live a simple life that is...

Looks like 1 week is a lot to miss in school. New scandals heard, and work of course... and maths test tomorrow ahhh! I must study for it tonight! May I pass with flying 'music' haha... colours I know, but I changed to 'music' for a purpose...

Today during lunch damn funny... my friend Pern Yi was at the 5th level of the new building, decided to throw the water bottle into the dustbin from a distance, but missed and water bottle jumped and flew out of the building! Then, he ran to the toilet... haha... so many teachers saw... still hide in the toilet! In the end, one teacher came in and asked him to pick up the water bottle... hilarious... sorry Pern Yi for putting this up... but well, that was quite funny anyway

PE was so bad for me... just right after I sort of recovered from Shingles, must do so much PE... 4 stations at once including 2.4km, failed it obviously... don't care anyway...

Basically, after much thought during my 'extra holiday', I have decided to... live a simple life... definition? Not saying yet...

Well, basically, reality is what I wish it can be virtual, but is there such thing as virtual reality? I must be spewing gibberish now...

After 1 long week of rest and MC and extra 'holidaying', I think I have sort of recovered...

Looks like I'll be going back to school this Monday. Having missed 1 week of lessons, I am sure to be very jia-lak when I go back... ahhh...

Just reminded myself of all those tests coming up... ahhh...

Well, here's basically my progress of the homework I intended to do...

Leg 10: BJ & Tyler face non-elimination penalty again

Yup, didn't go school today again due to the 1 week MC given, so watched Amazing Race 9 early in the morning at 8am...

4 teams left, and there are already many conflicts going on. BJ & Tyler and Ray & Yolanda appear to be the angelic teams, whereas Joseph & Monica and Eric & Jeremy appear to be the devilish teams.

Teams headed to Darwin, Australia. Before going to the airport, all teams called for taxis. However, the devilish teams cancelled the taxi bookings of the angelic teams, causing a greater conflict between all the teams. Quite a underhand method done in the race, first time ever in the history of the race I believe, cancelling other teams' taxi bookings.

The first route marker in Darwin was to walk through a pool of crocodiles to retrieve the hanging clue. Potentially dangerous and very frightening because the park guide said the crocodiles will bite if anyone stepped on them, so they had to be very careful.

Yield Ahead - BJ & Tyler yields MoJo. Kind of expected that, MoJo deserved it for cancelling the taxi bookings. Roadblock on skydiving, cool one indeed.

The detour proved to be a challenge for all racers. 'Wet' or 'Dry' - wasn't these detour options used in the Singapore episode in season 3? Looks like CBS has run out of words haha...

Wet - 1 mile (1.6km) of swimming is sooo long... running already takes about 10 minutes. If swimming, it will take much much longer...

Dry - Drive more miles, but the task was easy. Blowing a note... can't be that hard anyway. Quite fun also...

Surprisingly, Ray & Yolanda arrived at the pit-stop in first place. Good for them, and I am beginning to like this team a bit, because they have resolved their conflicts between themselves and working more as a team. Now I don't want them out haha...

A three-way footrace to the pit-stop. Very exciting last part, I predicted non-elimination and it came true. Eric & Jeremy arrived 2nd, MoJo arrived 3rd and the Hippies arrived last, but not eliminated again. This team suffers the penalty again of losing their backpacks and money. I guess they can deal with it since they had a previous experience...

The next episode should be the final elimination leg I hope. Teams will make their way to Thailand. I hope MoJo gets eliminated...

Stuck at home

To be stuck at home for this whole week, blessing in disguise or curse? I won't know...

Heard there are many tests next week... hope I won't miss much this week, if not sure die...

Meanwhile, I shall just enjoy this 'holiday' and pack my room... stuff... and do some work...

Looks like I am sort of recovering... actually I think I am all right to go to school, because I am all alive and feel normal, but too bad this is contagious... I doubt you want to be infected right?

All right, excluding this week, there are only 3 more weeks to the June holidays! I just can't wait for it to come...

OEP Summary

All right, here is a brief summary of my OEP trip in China from 22 Apr to 28 Apr.

Day 1 (22 Apr 06): Shanghai

Arrived in Shanghai Pudong International Airport at around 6am or so. Airport said there was no gate available for the plane to park, so we had to take a bus to the arrival hall. I think there was no gate available because they were probably just too lazy to find one... because there were so many gates available from what I saw...

Then, we had breakfast at some place near the airport. That was the worst breakfast for that whole trip. The porridge was super diluted, tasted like water... the noodle was oily, the crust was hard, the bread was wet... but we just had to eat them to fill our stomachs for the long day ahead.

Next, we headed for the Shanghai Urban Planning Center and Science & Tech Museum. Kinda okay... had some fun at the science and tech museum... played some bicycle simulator and archery - I couldn't hit the circle at all... my aiming sux lol...

Day 2 (23 Apr 06): Shanghai

In the morning, we headed for the Sunqiao Agricultural Park, where we saw the greenhouse and some dogs... these dogs were supposedly staying at their place called "Pets Hotel" which was kinda ironic... they look rather pitiful...

Next, we took the Maglev train to the city from the airport, since the agricultural park was near the airport. The train ride was awesome, cost us 50 yuan (S$10), and the train moves at an average speed of 300km/h with a maximum speed of 431km/h. Awesome ride indeed...

Then we headed for Xintiandi and Xiangyang Market. The shopping spree begins... and not to forget, a kinda ironic taxi sign on top of this taxi shown below... in case you don't understand Chinese, the word shows "Ba Shi" which means Bus and it is on the taxi... well it actually belongs to the Bus Company, that's why it says "Ba Shi"... but it really looks awkward haha...

At night, we went to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower to see the night view of Shanghai from the top. Been to a similar situation when I went to the Sears Tower in Chicago, USA, except this time was during the night. Very awesome view indeed...

Day 3 (24 Apr 06): Shanghai

In the morning and afternoon, we visited two companies - Shenmei Food & Beverage Co Ltd and Sharp Electronics. Then, we went to Nanjing Road for shopping in the afternoon. A kinda expensive place... then at night, we went to the Bund to take some photographs. Very nice view indeed...

Day 4 (25 Apr 06): Shanghai / Suzhou

In the morning, we visited three industrial areas - Software Park, Supercomputers Park and Yuqiao Garbage Incineration Plant. The first two places were quite boring... the incineration plant place was smelly... and we had to wear this stupid helmet which makes me look so weird...

After that, we headed back to Xiangyang Market, thanks to Kwong's group request. Spent more money again... then we headed for Suzhou. It was the first time throughout the trip that it actually rained. Very nice and cooling temperature.

Day 5 (26 Apr 06): Suzhou

Very early in the morning, we went to the Suzhou Industrial Park. It was a joint venture between China and Singapore, with China holding 65% share, Singapore holding 25% share and other companies holding the rest. Quite an interesting place...

In the afternoon, it was pure shopping... went to Guanqian Street for a shopping spree. Quite a cheap place comparing to Nanjing Road which was as expensive as Orchard Road. Bought some stuff there including an ant stuff toy. Not to forget, the cool traffic lights near the Suzhou Industrial Park and the confusing signs...

After the shopping, we went to the Master of the Nets Garden and the Silk Factory. Nice view... and quite interesting to see how the factory actually works...

Day 6 (27 Apr 06): Suzhou

Today's itinerary was quite wonderful I guess. Visited an ancient water town called Luzhi Water Town in the morning. Nice waters, and the atmosphere of the place was just different. Not to forget, Suzhou is a very 'screechy' city... okay back to the point, on the way by bus to the town, I noticed how run-down some parts of the roads in Suzhou were... just look at the following pictures... well that's only one, the rest were in the water town...

Next, we visited the Grand Canal and another shopping street called Shantang Street for yet another shopping spree... after that, we visited the Embroidery Institute to see the skilful workers at work...

Day 7 (28 Apr 06): Suzhou / Nanjing / Singapore

Woke up at 5.45am, departed Suzhou at around 6.30am and headed for Nanjing to catch our flight back to Singapore. Along the way, we intended to visit the Nanjing Massacre Museum which we sort of did... due to labour day week, many China people decided to visit the place too... causing a very long queue, thus we couldn't enter the place despite the tour guide trying his best to help us enter the place...

Finally, we reached the airport after travelling more than 250km by bus from Suzhou. Airport food was so expensive, so we decided to eat cup noodles for lunch. How cool eh? There was actually hot water available at the Nanjing International Airport! And of course, that marks the end of this OEP trip...

Leg 9: From first to worst...

Fran & Barry started off the leg in first place, but soon fell to the back of the pack due to such a physical leg, causing them to be the next team to be eliminated.

Perth, Australia was the next destiniation city. I haven't been to this part of Australia yet. Kinda a peaceful and quiet city I would say... and maybe a little interesting I guess.

I never expected Australia to be the next destination city, because it was like so far... from Middle East to Australia in 1 leg, first time in amazing race history I believe.

Very physical tasks... too bad it had to be elimination.

Eric & Jeremy makes it back to the top. I guess they need more luck and navigation tasks so that they don't keep getting first place finishes. Give others a chance to win a prize LOL...

A fun and thrilling experience in Shanghai, Suzhou and sort of a little bit of Nanjing.

Lots of Engrish stuff... haha... couldn't find a menu with both english and chinese unfortunately, but the number of engrish stuff found is tremendously a lot. Some photographs of me... friends... and engrish stuff will be put up ASAP.

Here's some comments about my trip to China... 3rd time to China in fact...

1. China really keeps their reputation of oily food. Everything, well almost everything is oily. The soup is oil, the dish is oil, even Macdonalds French Fries is oily!

2. The traffic lights in Suzhou, near the Suzhou Industrial Park, are very cool... much cooler than Singapore.

3. Shanghai's elevated roads are just awesome...

4. The night view of Shanghai is very "sparkly", much more creative than Singapore.

5. Understood why amazing race had a roadblock of "washing windows" in Shanghai... because it is such a common task there!

6. Nanjing Massacre Museum - because it was labour holiday week, many China people went to visit this place. The queue was super long... the longest queue I have ever seen in my entire life. At least 5,000 people were queueing up just to enter the museum... the queue even went on all the way to the roadside... it was just "wow"...

7. Almost everything there is so cheap... bargaining and haggling just makes the shopkeeper so angry... and they are indeed very dramatic. They should all act in dramas... surely can win award one!

And not to forget, I got Shingles =.= Sianz... now 1 week MC...

OEP approaches

I am just a few hours away to Shanghai, China. Our flight is estimated to depart Singapore at 1.15am on a Saturday early morning, and arrive in Shanghai just in time for breakfast. Sleep on the plane? I doubt I can... I am gonna take a long nap after I finish this blog entry for today. I wonder if I would be able to sleep at all...

Done with the packing I guess. Prepare for the ultimate photo-taking, bargaining and shopping in the streets of Shanghai and Suzhou. Of course, not to forget learn something about what the tour agency will bring us to... in other words, enjoy :)

Can't wait to check out Shanghai again after being there only for 1 day when I was in Primary Five, that was like about 6 years ago? Revisiting a place might be different comparing to last time, since I was rather young at that point in time.

Will be away from 22 to 28 April 2006, so don't expect any blog entries during that period of time I guess...

Experience, memories and photos of this OEP experience will be added here once I arrive back into Singapore. Not to forget, once I return, will have to catch up on my TV shows that I missed... Da Changjin and The Amazing Race 9 :) I hope Ray & Yolanda gets eliminated next... can't stand them at all -.-

Wow, the sheltered linkway in skool has planks now, so that we won't be able to walk through the flooded linkway which was caused by the heavy rain the past few days. Interesting... and noisy!

Voting of council today... apparently there was some problem with the first one due to names that were meant to be there and not meant to be there... so we had to revote again. All the best to the council members that I voted for :) Not gonna reveal who I voted for of course :) It shall be kept private and confidential I guess...

Almost done packing the luggage. Shanghai in less than 2 days time. Stupid flight at 1.15am... who would sleep on a SQ plane? Pay so much to sleep on it? I shall enjoy the entertainment the plane will provide... hopefully I will enjoy to the fullest for this OEP trip :)

Leg 8: Fran & Barry make it to the top!

A very interesting episode to see alpha-male teams Eric & Jeremy and BJ & Tyler fall to the back of the pack. A very surprising first-place finish by old couple Fran & Barry.

Detour was quite interesting, I would choose the "Camel" detour option because it was so easy! You get help from other people too... one big mistake by Eric & Jeremy was their bad map reading skill... I guess they were just too confident.

Roadblock was a killer, only 6 out of 110+ sand piles had the item needed to get the next clue. No luck for the "Hippies" as MoJo and Fran & Barry surged ahead with their good luck. It was a tight race between the old and young couple, but in the end, Fran & Barry surprised all of us by arriving at the mat in first place, winning them a trip to Rome, Italy sponsored by Travelocity. So good... and good for them. Finally they broke the first-place winning streak by the all-male teams (Eric & Jeremy and BJ & Tyler).

I guess Eric & Jeremy just wanted to be first all the time on the race, while people try not to get last place, they try not to get not first place - which is not a very good strategy on the race. Taking shortcuts to the pit-stop is a very big risk... they need to work on that bad mistake of theirs if they want to stay on the race.

Ray & Yolanda -- this team is pissing me off. Arguing like small kids, its just that I don't seem to find anything unique about this team. I want them out of the race... okay, let's say if they are in the final 3, I don't want them to win... because I think they just don't seem to be "part" of the race in some way...

Oman was the destination city for this week's episode. Like wow, where the heck is that? If Phil didn't mention and showed the map on the TV, I wouldn't have known about this place at all... a very interesting new place indeed.

Interview is finally over...

Went to MOE today for some interview. Glad it is finally over :) Now just hope for the best I guess... whether or not, I did try my best I believe.

It said my interview was 11am, but as expected, delays occur and it became 12pm or so. Kinda fun and scary at the same time... well, at least it's all over now :)

Still having a slight cough... it refuses to go away =.=

On the way home from school by bus, there was this massive jam at Clementi Road. When I mean massive, it was extremely MASSIVE! It was worse than getting stuck in traffic in Vietnam. Somehow, I guess it was due to the thunderstorm this afternoon, a tree had fell onto Clementi Road, just before the U-Turn at Maju Camp area - towards NUS direction. Oh My Goodness! Peak hour, and cars reversing on the other side of the road... that was just terrible!

One fell tree can cause a massive jam all around Singapore... the flyover at Seven Mile (the flyover next to KAP) was jammed up with vehicles heading towards Clementi Road, the whole of Bukit Timah Road (from dont know which part I guess quite far up all the way to KAP) was jammed up so badly! When I got home, I was thankful that the tree did not fall on the road towards home, if not I would probably be walking back home from Singapore Institute of Management (SIM)!

I hope no one got injured by that massive tree... and I really pity those people waiting for a bus at those bus stops after Clementi Rd, because there was NO WAY any bus was going to come...

Due to the never-moving traffic at Bukit Timah Road, many people just got fed up and gave up... and decided to get off the bus and walk along the paths, which was way faster because from Sixth Ave to KAP, with that terrible jam, it would take at least two hours for sure. By walk it will only take half an hour to 45 minutes...

Yeah, that was one terrible jam indeed... here's some photos...

Going to Nanjing may not be that bad after all...

Well, paid the same amount of money for the Shanghai OEP trip, and my group gets to travel to one more city in China for a while - Nanjing. Even though we are going there just to catch a flight back to Singapore, but I am quite certain that there will be some time for us to tour a little bit of Nanjing on the last day. What's more is that before Chien Ser came to Singapore, she was studying in Nanjing. Get to see how her 'study environment' was like for her there... I am looking forward to that OEP trip...

Tomorrow during EE period, the period will be used for some student council thing. 3.40pm to 5.40pm -- Hopefully the staying back will be made worthwhile and not a waste.

One thing I am not sure if many of you have realised is that, the skool bell rings 5 minutes later than it should. Let's say locally, it is 12.00pm. The skool bell should ring at 12.00pm. However, it rings at 12.05pm. It will always ring 5 minutes later. My life feels a little prolonged. Hopefully we won't be so laid back... c'mon, fix the time of the bell... and the clock tower too!

It's the holidays... and had to fall sick of all times -.- Sore throat, runny nose, cough... why me? Why must I fall sick at this time?

Didn't talk much in school yesterday, and my classmates thought something was wrong with me. Yes, sore throat, that's all! I have a bad feeling that I will lose my voice soon... hopefully I can be cured soon and won't be sick when going for OEP in Shanghai.

Didn't update the past two days because I wasn't feeling well. Obviously, I am not feeling well still, but at least a little better than the past two days I suppose...

Wednesday: Rugby Match (ACSI lost 7-12 to SA)

History repeats itself. It has happpened two years in a row, it happened again. Getting out of that new Police Academy at Old CCK Road was a nightmare. 2 bus services only, and the road was more narrow than Sixth Ave! Just imagine 2 schools waiting at the bus stop... it is no joke! Couldn't get on the first 3 buses that came, managed to get on the 4th one with Yinghao and Pongsy. Squashed like sardines, standing on steps, hoping the bus won't jerk or else we will all fall and crash the glass.

The bus we took stopped at Bukit Panjang Bus Interchange. Then, at this point, I saw 171. It was going in the direction of my house, so I rushed for it. For some weird reasons, Yinghao also rushed even though there was 2 direct bus services (75, 184) to his house from Bt Panjang. LOL... and Pongsy even better... even though 171 goes to his house too, there was a 700A at Bt Panjang which goes by BKE and PIE (expressways basically)... yet he took 171 which took the longer way. Haha... well, at least we managed to get out of Old CCK road... when I was there waiting for a bus with them, I didn't care what bus came, as long as I could get out of the place was what all matters at that point in time...

Thursday: Taboo

The English Department organised a small competition for year 5s called Taboo. Well, if you want to know what the game is all about, it is basically like this -- 1 person will have to give hints to 2 people to guess a word... but the hints the person gives must not include the taboo words as shown on the screen. It was very hilarious, sort of enjoyed the session :)

After that, there was OEP briefing. Due to unforseen circumstances, my poor group got to fly from Nanjing to Singapore instead of Shanghai to Singapore on the last day... well maybe it is better? We get to explore Nanjing? More worthwhile than the other group? I dunno...

Anyway, that's all from me...

Puzzling Journey Update

Last updated this morning, a total of 11 people have completed all 30 levels of Puzzling Journey :)

This cool puzzle game of mine seems to be very popular, many people in countries including The Netherlands, United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Spain are trying my puzzles too! I wonder if this game of mine can be addictive to some people...

My game has also been discussed in one other forum! I just can't believe it... at least now the game is getting popular, and hopefully I can release the second volume of Puzzling Journey soon :)

Meanwhile, don't get your brain too fried if you are trying but can't solve a certain puzzle :)

Leg 7: Lake & Michelle OUT!

For a moment, I thought this leg was a non-elimination leg, looks like it isn't. I think it will be in the next leg...

Eric & Jeremy are indeed dominating the whole race, I wonder if they are the yield target for others. They seem to be coming in first place all the while, and they have been too lucky such as breaking the plate with the red and yellow flag for the Fast-Forward. Will their lucky streak ever end? I wonder...

The destination for this leg is Greece. Very ancient-looking and cooling I suppose. The place with the Olympics and such. Bungee-Jumping roadblock was quite terrible especially for old couple Fran & Barry, but well at least she managed to perform the task!

BJ & Tyler - For once you have made a mistake! In fact 2 mistakes! Never followed route info instructions carefully and drove in wrong direction - fortunately, the dentist and his wife got lost further and you were saved, despite the 15 minutes penalty. Same for Ray & Yolanda... they need to read their clue more carefully...

With Lake & Michelle out, there will be less bickering on the race.

Today was the first day of the Student Council Campaign. Hats was the main theme today, almost everyone did something about it. Very enthu. and on I would say, and some had very creative ideas :) One of them even had a magical hat and pulled out white rabbits! Did I say white rabbits? Yup, many of them! It is actually the White Rabbit Sweet! Interesting right?

I wonder who I will vote for... I guess I will only know it next Thursday.

Tomorrow is the Rugby Finals, as usual the whole school got to go and support. It is now at the new Police Academy at some ulu place at Old Choa Chu Kang Road, near some fish farm. Yet only 2 buses go there - 172 and 975. It is going to be a mad dash to the bus stop tomorrow when going home... I could just predict and imagine that chaos, especially now that with Year 5s, there's more people =.=

Botanics, Suntec, Holland V, Orchard???

Last night was my Centerstage's group outing. We met the group at the school's space frame at around 6.30pm. Had difficulties on deciding where to go... Botanics? Suntec? Holland V? Jelita? Orchard? Sze Min's house? Every time we try to decide on something, we always keep thinking about "It's Friday Night"... true, Friday night is the night with many people going out since it is considered the "weekend" already.

After much deciding, we went to Heeren by bus. A whole group of 20+ people going out together, that is even bigger than my class last year... considered as an "illegal gathering"?

Bus Ride

Upon arrival, we went to Marche to have our dinner. A big group of 20+ of us, impossible to have one table all for us, so we split ourselves into two groups. It was my first time at Marche, so "outdated" of me eh? I am quite surprised at how the restaurant really works, pretty interesting... and there was this card saying you need to spend a minimum of $10 Nett, so smart of them... prices shown are all $9.90, that means you cannot leave the restaurant unless you spent 10 cent more on something... obviously it will be dollars more since there's nothing that is less than a dollar there, smart business technique...

Since Auggie and I were rather broke that day, didn't bring enough cash, we decided to share. Calamari, Seafood Pizza, Wild Mushroom Sofa and Root Beer... costs us $13.70 each which is not that bad anyway...

Then Auggie, Prisca, Claressa and I took some photos throughout the whole dinner. Before seeing the photos shown below, here are some interesting things that happened that night...

- Meicen thought TCC (The Coffee Club) was a pub
- Meicen thought what we were drinking (Bundaberg) was beer (It was actually root beer)
- We celebrated Chien Ser's belated birthday today (even though her birthday was in January) and some even thought it was really her birthday today!
- Melvin couldn't finish his food...

Here is an edited version of one part of my script in Centerstage... instead of saying it to Daniel (Hwit), I am saying this to Melvin (SM)...

So why was this slice of pork found on your plate? How will you explain that? Sacrificio Piggy, Sacrificio De Starvation, Sacrificio Vienaventurado. You think nobody will understand all these about sacrifices of pigs once you can't eat them all? That makes you even more cruel to animals...

That poor little pig was sacrificed for Melvin to eat, yet he couldn't finish, not worth the pig's life...

Melvin, if you're reading this, this was just meant to be a joke, no hard feeling ok?

After dinner, we went to walk from Heeren to outside Istana to sit down and chat. Melvin was kinda worried about the "illegal gathering law" thing, kept asking us to split the group into certain number of people. Police right behind our backs at the Istana, no wonder Melvin so worried, but who cares lah...

After the wonderful night outing, Shahir, Daniel and I went to search for a cab home. Shared cabs of course... catching a cab at 10pm+ was a nightmare indeed. Many hired taxis, many empty taxis who refuse to take us because they are waiting for an "On Call", and found an empty taxi which was stolen by someone else. Sigh... spent more than 20 minutes finding a cab, so Shahir decided to call a taxi. Booking fee of 4 bucks, I helped him pay that. Even though we left the Istana place 20 minutes before Meicen, Prisca, Melvin and Chien Ser, they still caught up to us at Park Mall. Goodness me... we took such a long time finding a cab, but it's okay lol... thanks Shahir for the cab ride!

Dr Lee Suan Yew Speaker of the Year Award

Today was the Dr Lee Suan Yew Speaker of the Year Award day for my school. It is some kind of English Speaking competition... which consists of two rounds -- a prepared speech and an impromptu speech.

The starting speech from the guest-of-honour was very boring, but what comes after that was more interesting. Speeches made by students... some things that I can remember while writing this blog entry are...

- Joshua Hoe's Poem (He is pro man... within 10 minutes he could write such a cool and good rhythmic poem! Well done!)

- Dhanesh's Comments on the Wantan-a-Merah Auntie ("Soup or Dry?" = "Soup or Lie?")

- One Upper Secondary Student's Comment on Nerd (John F KenNERDy -- totally thrilled me...)

And not to forget, the gentleman which the whole school was clapping for whenever each speaker comes out to speak... the botak MR boy... it happens every year. Seems like a tradition and culture that never ceases in ACS (Independent), which is cool haha...

Yup, that's it for now. And not to forget, congratulations to all the winners of this grand competition.

Leg 6: Phil dances at the pit-stop...

If you have watched the part in the show where Phil waits for Mojo Team to check in to the pit-stop, a short scene was filmed showing Phil dancing at the pit-stop. Wow like what the heck man... first time seeing the host dancing at the pit-stop... LOL how cool ... but not really appropriate I guess haha...

A very tight race... there does not seem to be any change in race positions since this leg is all about not making any mistakes. Any mistakes made and it is game over, since the "hours of operation" for the first route marker didn't really help teams to catch up to the front.

The alpha-male teams Eric & Jeremy and BJ & Tyler are indeed very dominant, they have been exchanging 1st place finishes consistently. I wonder if these two teams will actually make it to the final three? C'mon let the co-ed teams catch up a bit haha...

Sicily, a small Italian island -- looks like a normal pasar (market) to me. Nothing special about this place I guess, besides the ancient ruins found on one part of Sicily, might be a cool place to visit for only two to three days I guess. Traffic and roads are indeed quite terrible I would say.

Goodbye to the nerdy team Dave & Lori. Unfortunately you're unable to catch up to the front running teams... even though both did not win the million bucks, they won the million love they got for each other... xD

6 teams left -- I have a feeling the next leg is going to be a non-elimination... will the last team start wearing extra clothes on them so that they will have some clothes when their backpacks get confiscated? Hmm... I wonder...

Fran & Barry -- This team has been surprising me a lot indeed. Not sure if other teams find them as a threat, but this team's blurness and perseverance have brought them to this far in the race. I will be really surprised if they make it to the final three... hopefully this team will surprise me further!

Yay! Officially finished Wicked-Junior 25 levels...

Very wicked, stuck at level 20 and not sure if I can go on... maybe when my mind is really refreshed then I might try again haha... such a cool game... maybe I shall make one like this too... xD Thanks to Yinghao for introducing the game to me... and thanks Chien Ser for some help regarding the game :P I know I am so stupid that I can't solve some stuff and you could in a few seconds xD Well, told you Chien Ser... you're smarter than me :)

Didn't go school yesterday... went to school today... so glad Mrs Elaine Lee is still my EE Supervisor... heng sia... I heard some people got changed supervisor... pity them... I shall be "on" for EE and try to finish all the necessary methodology before Term 3 begins. Think I can do it? Hopefully...

I am currently reflecting back to the change in Subject Combi. I am a little regretful in taking Malay ab, but I have no choice since I am happy in taking Chinese B (HL). I shall work very hard to do well in school work... challenging enough to take 3 languages for the first time in my life xD Happy to do Chemistry (SL) since I know I am not a Science person...

Why am I not a Science person? People know that my Maths is quite good, and kept wondering why my science sux so bad... since Primary School, my science has always not been good... when everyone gets A for their PSLE Science, what do I get? I got a B for PSLE Science. In Sec 1, when everyone gets at least a B4 in Physical Science, I got a C6 with mark 51. When almost everyone passed their Physics in Sec 3, I got an F9 (33%). What does this show? My science sux...

But people have been wondering how come my maths skill doesn't seem to match my physics skill? Most people say "If you're good in Maths, you're good in physics". That is so not true... I am one good example.

Got some comments about my crap acting of Centerstage from some of my friends today... I don't look too angry... hmmm... I guess I am not a very angry person haha, which is good... angry people have a short life, happy people live longer... quote from Kenneth Yeo xD I wonder if that is true...

2 words to keep in mind for me after the gruelling Centerstage rehearsals -- Focus! Work Hard!... okay crap, I wanted to just write Work Hard!, but decided to add Focus!, so that makes three words to remember xD

All right, closing this entry for today... got to do crap work now xD Here is just a thought to leave... you may not agree with this, but that's the way I think it is xD

Eye Check-up

Recently, my eyes seem to get red easily for absolutely unknown reasons... I never rubbed, never touched, it just gets red all of a sudden... for those people in Centerstage, you have seen it before... why? Why? WHY???

Red again in the morning, went to see the doctor. Took bus 67 to the doctor... waited for 67 for more than half an hour -.- And it said that the frequency was 7 to 10 minutes, what a load of crap xD At least it was a bendy-bus... fun and bumpy ride. The bus almost had an accident though when it almost crashed into a car on the ride there...

Doctor said my eyes were sensitive and allergic to *something* in school, I wonder what it is... the construction dust? the air-con? or what? I have absolutely no idea... I hope the eyedrops will help xD It is getting quite worrying to not know that my eyes get red without me realising it...

Yep, what an awful day... missed school today, hope I didn't miss much of lessons... or else catching up sure "mati"... NAPFA test today I heard... hope I can pass when I do it the next PE lesson... xD

Didn't have time to update this yesterday night, so here it is...

Had Sakae Sushi for yesterday's dinner... and I gave the treat (along with a 20 dollar voucher my mum has gotten from some special card)... to celebrate the long gone staying back in school for long hours xD At least now I have more time for my work hopefully xD

The dinner costs around 52 dollars, that's like 13 dollars per person... expensive xD But well, once in a while only anyway...

Just see how many plates we ate... and one set meal...

Back to Centerstage topic, thanks Claressa for sending me the photos you took :) Appreciated it, and hope that video file will work soon xD Dunno why it works on mine and not yours... but the videos are cool anyway :P
